Intrastate Access Filing Report: Access Season is Upon Us
May 15, 2013 | by Michael Yokay

Much like a CPA’s busy tax season, the telecommunication industry’s “access filing season” is upon us. And CCMI is actively monitoring the volume of filings and collecting transmittal and tariff updates in our online rate document library.
This year, on July 1, 2013, LECs must file tariffs to bring terminating intrastate rates to parity with interstate rates, despite the pending court challenge to the FCC’s Report and Order (FCC Docket 10-90).
CCMI tracked more than 2,000 intrastate access filings in 2012, and we are expecting well over 3,000 transmittal and tariff updates this year.
With such an overwhelming amount of filings expected, it’s critical that you stay up to date with these important rate changes. And to help you out, we’ll be posting a weekly Intrastate Access Filing Report. We’ll report on the number of tariffs filed by state, as well as the carriers with the most filing activity (see the graphs below).
This data is stored in TelView, CCMI’s online rate document library. If you’re already a TelView customer, click here to access the detailed Intrastate Access Filing Report (login required).
And if you’re not a current TelView customer, click here to find out how you can gain access to the industry’s most comprehensive tariff library.
Be sure to check back here each week for an update on this season’s access filing activity and avoid being overwhelmed by the sheer volume of intrastate access filings to come. Better yet, subscribe to this blog and you'll receive an email notification whenever there's a new post.
