INTRASTATE ACCESS CHARGE PROCEEDINGS

Colorado – Proposed “Telecom Rulemaking in Response to Technology &/or Markets”, Docket No. 12R-862T, entered August 1, 2012.

The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) has opened a docket to solicit comments about changes to its telecommunications rules. The changes will seek to institute a “Effectively competitive area” whereby basic local exchange service is provided by three or more non-affiliated providers. The result would be a change in regulation to all Part II services within the competitive area.
Included within the docket is the determination to freeze the switched access charges of all ILECs and CLECs at the tariffed rate as of January 1, 2012. This change would not affect any rate changes due to federal requirements.
